Hundred years on service of diplomacy: what role was played by diplomatic couriers in the history of Russia — RT in Russian

On August 27, 1918 as a part of the National commissariat on foreign affairs of the Soviet Russia "the table of diplomatic couriers" has been created. This service was responsible for providing the reliable message with representations of the country abroad. Today information can be transferred by means of modern means of communication: at the disposal of diplomats there are phones and the Internet. However important and confidential documents still trust diplomatic couriers who often risk life to bring them in safety.
