"Big step to revival of the died-out animals": scientists partially recovered cages from mammoth tissues — RT in Russian

The Russian and Japanese scientists partially restored biological activity in cages of a woolly baby mammoth who died about 28 thousand years ago. For this purpose experts replaced proteinaceous structures from mammal tissue in ova of mice. As a result biologists revealed signs of activity in several modified oocytes, but division of ova did not happen. Researchers noted that by means of a new method it is possible to estimate biological activity in kernels from cages of the died-out animals, and in the long term — to clone the disappeared mammals.
